leadership coaching

The Quest for success does not begin with complicated tools and systems, or with quick-fix pop-management style changes.

It begins with taking a journey within. A journey that leads you first to recognize the attitudes and behaviors that cripple you, and your organization: then to re-harness the energies within to meet your personal goals and the challenges of your organization. Leadership coaching is a powerful enabling agent for this process of transformation. Focusing on workplace behavior, it looks at the successes and failures that we experience, and at the factors that contributed to those outcomes.

A Quest Leadership Coach believes in the dignity and integrity of every human being and is committed to eliciting the inherent capability and resourcefulness of every individual.  As Coach, we will pursue, through an interactive process, the development of client-designed strategies and solutions which move our client toward the rapid attainment of his or her goals.  We are respectful and protective of the vulnerability of each client while constructively holding the client to a high standard of self-responsibility and accountability.  As a Client, your well-being is the central focus of our Coaching relationship and thereby we maintain a high level of integrity and trustworthiness throughout our engagement.  We are respectful of your needs and requests; constructive in our feedback, attentive to the boundaries and limitations of each party; mindful of confidentiality issues and conflicts of interest, and forthright and authentic in addressing any such issues as they emerge.

Over the years, I have found a number of skilled coaching practitioners  who share this vision. Working alone, or in conjunction with these kindred spirits, we have been able to help a number of enterprises, both commercial and not-for-profit, small and large, to address their challenges in leadership development.

the “Quest” Philosophy

In the light of honest self evaluation, the Quest process identifies barriers that prevent a business executive or manager from functioning at his or her optimal performance level and helps remove those barriers. Significant amounts of energy can be recovered from processes and behaviors that undermine and sabotage, which instead can be used to nurture, develop, become more successful in your organization. However, before sustainable organizational transformation can occur, it must be preceded by personal transformation. Senior management, who create, shape, and maintain the organization’s vision, must “walk the talk” and be transformed themselves, or else the impact on those at other organizational levels will be minimal. A Quest Leadership Coach believes in the dignity and integrity of every human being and is committed to eliciting the inherent capability and resourcefulness of every individual.

A Quest Leadership Coach is your companion, a skilled guide, mentor and co-discerner on the journey within. Our philosophy of Executive Coaching is facilitative, one-to-one, and mutually designed. The focus of our coaching work is usually on organizational performance or development, but will invariably have a personal component. Our goal in coaching is to use our skills and experience to enable you to meet your objectives.

Executive Coaching Services

Quest Leadership’s Personal Coaching services for Executives is the cornerstone of our approach. Initial consultations clarify desired outcomes and jointly design the process to be used. Your Quest Leadership coach will then guide, support, challenge and mentor you as your remove the barriers that prevent you from attaining your goals. The process is confidential, timely and powerful, yielding measurable and sustainable results. As Coach, we will pursue, through an interactive process, the development strategies and solutions which move you towards the rapid attainment of your goals. We are respectful and protective of the vulnerability of each client while constructively holding the client to a high standard of self-responsibility and accountability.

Often our approach in Personal Executive Coaching is to provide an up front, detailed Interview and Executive Analysis session. This would normally be held on your site, in a private and uninterrupted location, and will take approximately 3 hours. It involves discussion with the selected coach, as well as the completion of a number of written documents and instruments. We will often also conduct a group of face to face meetings, including interviews with your immediate staff. This is typically followed by a series of 6 bi-weekly 60 minute coaching sessions at your site. Interspersed with the bi-weekly face to face meetings are 30 minute weekly tele-coaching sessions. Additional communication occurs as often as needed either by phone or by email. Following this initial three month period, face-to-face or telecoaching sessions are arranged based on your needs.

Team Coaching Services

In addition to Personal Coaching Services, Quest Leadership will work with your team in a group process designed to:

  • Identify the barriers to success within the group
  • Facilitate the groups awareness and ownership of those issues and challenges
  • Create actionable strategies to address those challenges
  • Implement appropriate systems and processes to ensure sustainability of outcome.

The particular process used will be as individual as your team members – ensuring that the right process is used for your people to meet their unique needs. Team Coaching includes an initial diagnostic session, followed by a personal session, followed by personal professional analysis for Team Members. These are usually followed by a personal session, weekly or bi-weekly tele-coaching, and two team conference calls or sessions based on the needs of the team.
